Say what?

Ha! Well, It's almost 4 months since I last blog about my weekends. Rawr. I hate it that I almost missed blogging everything that happened. But no worries, I'll be trying very very hard to remember everything. Blame me, and my busy life. Wushu. Anyhow, here's what I am going to do. I'll post first the weekends that I clearly remember, then fill-up the rest with my random thoughts. And it starts now, seriously. Haha. I'll keep the post date in order. No one will find this interesting by the way, except me. So, just bear with me please?

Week 23: It's Father's day!

It's Father's day and I am planning of doing something awesome for Tatay. But I'm a bit surprised that it's father's day, yet he's the one doing awesome things this day. He cooked for us, and made a lot of cleaning in the house. It's very unusual, because on a Sunday, he would normally go for bird-hunting, or drinking sessions with friends while oldies are playing on the radio. Well, I did the laundry. Haha. It's an achievement.

So to repay him for what he did for the day, I bought him a gift. It's actually a birthday+father's day gift. And then in the evening, I texted my bestfriend Sam (he's working on DZMM) to greet my father on-air! He heard it right, and he's just so happy. He even wants to repeat the greetings! Haha!

That's how Father's day goes in our family. Happy and productive.

Week 22: Tatay's 51st

I remember when I was a kid, I had spaghetti, cake and ice cream for my birthday. In my highschool years, I had Php500-700 to treat my friends. (Hey! Php500 can afford 10 upsized burger meals way back!) In college? Never mind, I celebrated my birthday on the editing house. Wohoo! And I thank Tatay for every single strand of spaghetti, slice of cake, scoop of ice cream and peso he gave me to make my birthday memorable. And now, I want to give it all back to him.

I have no plans of throwing him a bongga party. I just want him to have a memorable one, just like how he did it to my birthdays. And I think I did it quite right. I invited our relatives, his sister, grandchildren, everyone special to him. I saw the happiness in his eyes. I didn't actually expect him to agree with the plan. Because knowing him, he would only want a beer at hand on his birthday.

He whispered his wish and blew the birthday candles. Very not him.

I'll share something personal. Before, I felt that my efforts were not being recognized by him. I study well in school. I never cut classes [except in my senior yr in HS]. I never fail a subject. I never use drugs. I never join any frat. I finished school on time. I didn't get pregnant. And it's all because of him. I am really afraid of him. I am afraid that he will never be proud. I am afraid to fail him, and all. And he deserves the respect. For being a good father to the four of us.

I am lucky to have a father. My bestfriend lost his father when he was still a kid. My other bestfriend's dad is working abroad. Me? I have my father with me. I want to be a good person he'll be proud of. I know he already is. But I want to exceed his expectations. And it's all part of the plan--to give everything. I hope to be successful so that he will be happy. Because I know, in the eyes of a father, his child's success is the happiest.

Week 21: My Comfort Zone

It happened that my cousin, uncle, and the wife of my other cousin celebrate their birthdays on the same week. Exciting isn't? So the excitement started when they arrived in the morning and we got to meet UNO again! Yay! And I had a closer look of him now. He also got to see everyone in the family. (Except for tatay because he has gone for Quezon.) As usual, we had this exchange of stories about the other family members in the province. Updates on our lives and the usual "Alam mo ba---?" portion of talking.

The realization? It is truly fulfilling to be with your family. That no matter how much problems come your way, there are people who will surely back you up. There's this feeling of comfort that you cannot find in any of your friends, or even your love partner. No one can actually replace them, and I am just so blessed to have a complete family. I am seeing a lot of people with separated parents, or deceased mother or father or sibling. And I just feel sad for them, and proud at the same time because they can actually continue life. My family is my comfort zone. I can't afford to lose any of them. They may want to live a life of their own, that's fine. What's important to me is that I know I have them even if I don't actually being with them.

Driving lesson update: I had another round of training with my brother. And I almost hit my cousin. Hehe. But still well done for a trainee.

Week 20: CFR-ADC Night Swimming

Since I didn't join the company outing last week, I am very excited for our team's night swimming. So what are the things that kept us up all night?

  • Videoke! Do I really have to elaborate? Our team is just so gifted that 12 hours is not enough for us to play all the songs that we wanted to sing. Imagine that.
  • Overflowing food. We are all bloated yet we still managed to take home 2 whole roasted chicken, one pack of roast pork, 4 grilled fish, plus the chips, softdrinks, salsa, and salad. That's how much food we have. Diet no-no.
  • Underwater shots. Lloyd brought her underwater camera, so everyone wanted to have a personal underwater photo. The queen? Nothing but Bayi and Diane. Yay!
  • 1-2-3 Pass! Unending  rounds of this game and we're all wasted laughing (+ the mini heart attack everytime we say Pass!). Do not fail the game, or else you'll take one glass shot of red horse. Happy horse.
  • Love stories. This is my favorite part. When everyone (even the person who is not really close to you) will open up and share his/her personal love story.
  • Office gossips. Haha! I know everyone will understand what I mean. This is the best time for us to hear gossips from the people in the office.

I only had one and a half hours of sleep. And I will not regret that I didn't hit the sack very early. I demand of a round two, please?!

Week 19: 5 Great Things

Five great things happen this week.

1. Trip to Singapore. I stayed up late on a Friday because I am talking to Andi about our international trip. We booked a flight via Jetstar for a Singapore tour on July. I just can't help myself being oh so excited because this is going to be my first international flight, plus my passport will have its first stamp!

2. Meet-up with Jiavin. I met up with one of my favorite kids. He's just so healthy! And I want to hug him very very tight. I'm happy to see him grow so big, and talented. He draws, reads, writes very very very well for a 5-year old kiddo. And I just love his dimples, and him calling me tita. I am looking forward for another date with him.

3. Sweet 16. We just had our 16th month together, me and Andrew. So, after the date with Jiavin, we shared a quality time together. Sweet, indeed! And I am just so lucky to have someone like him. I really really love him. This date is perfect!

4. Visit to UNO. He is my cousin's baby boy born on May 1. That's why he's given UNO as a nickname. He really looks like his father. But his nose is truly from Remolins. Welcome to the world, Juan Miguel Peralta Iway!

5. My first ever driving lesson. Today, I started with my driving lessons with my brother. I just can't believe I was able to move the car a few meters on my first day! But I still have to master the use of that clutch and gas pedals. And I should always remember: step on the clutch when having a break.

This post has no photos. And I know how boring it looks. But believe when I say that this weekend is packed with series of happy events. I missed the company outing (I intended to), but I still enjoyed the weekend with all the things that happened.

Week 18: One Step Closer

I don't really remember what happened on Saturday & Sunday (or I just don't want to remember), because what I am really thinking right now is how to share my greatest achievement this weekend in a very exciting way.

Tannnaaa!!!
This is the 4th time I posted this online. Sorry!
I already got my student license! This is really the start of achieving my personal goal this year: to (over)drive. I will not say much about how it happened. You can click the link below for the complete story. I just wanted to give an update on it. See? I am really working (hard) on it! Because I really really really really like it. Say it with Ryan Bang's tone. That's what I am feeling right now.

Next move: Driving lessons!
