The youngest among the three kiddos just celebrated his first year being alive. He hasn't been christened, yet. No godmothers/fathers. Poor little boy. However, he has his awesome aunts and uncles, and their friends to celebrate his birthday the awesome way. So what we did was to cook few dishes, (enough for the family and some friends), and sing him the best birthday song ever. There were no games just like the usual children's party. But I can see on his eyes that he feels that there's something special with that day. He's so happy, giggling and running around the house. He's happy seeing different faces in the house. Surprisingly, a lot of food in the table and everyone's present. When we sang the birthday song, he happily stares on our faces and claps his hand.
You know, these simple things make him feel special. We don't usually equate simple to special, but I guess this is something that we need to learn and appreciate. Even now that we are not kids anymore. I don't know how to explain it, but not all the best come in a special way. Sometimes, the simplest is the best.
